Do you have an eye for the creative? Have a love for art, and want to do something with it? Having no experience making logos isn’t a problem. If you have a good sense of design you can learn the tools of the trade very quickly. And if you can use a computer, you can pick up the programs in no time.
The main programs that are used for graphic design are Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. You can get away with free programs for a little while until you get your first couple of clients. You can also get the Adobe suite of programs for about 50 bucks a month. The first thing to do when starting a graphic design or logo design freelancing gig is to create some samples. It’s okay if you make them up yourself and they aren’t for a specific client. People just want to see that you know how to provide what they need. The simplicity of this hustle is why it made it onto our Side Hustle Master List.

Getting your first clients
When you go online and make an account on Upwork or Fiverr, you’ll see that clients post jobs they need to have done. One tactic that you can use is to design a logo based around the job that you want and use it as your portfolio item. If somebody needs a cleanly designed logo for a dentist’s website, just take a couple of hours and create a mock logo for a doctor’s website. This will get you in the door and then you can start using real work you’ve done for clients to get the next jobs. Once you have some work done on a site like Upwork, you can start your own website and get clients yourself.
It will take more time in the beginning, but it will pay off because you can have more control over your rates and make more money. Check out more information below.
