Ah, gifts for my boys. What should I get? Should everyone get the same thing? How playful should the gifts be? What would be appropriate? Believe it or not, I always had a pretty good idea of the exact type of gifts I’d be picking up for my groomsmen. As the attire for the event would require french-cuff shirts, I only felt it was fitting to pick up cuff-links for everyone. My only challenge was figuring out the style I should go with.
After spending hours and hours of reviewing hundreds of stylish cuff-links, it then hit me. Rather then get everyone the same style accessory, why not have them personalized? I’m not talking having them engraved with initials…I’m talking about a quirky cuff-link that actually reminds me of the individual in some way. Below are my selections continue reading »

The Hangover was out-of-this world funny. In fact, I’ve seen the film over a half-dozen times now and I still find it hysterical. How could it not be funy when you’re given a healthy dose of: Memory loss, kidnapping, grand theft auto, Mike Tyson’s Tiger, Mike Tyson himself, random baby, missing teeth, being hospitalized, getting tased in the face, etc. Come on! How ridiculously entertaining is that???
When the time came for me to think through what I’d like to do for my bachelor party, I didn’t hesitate…Vegas baby! Did the film influence my decision making? Eh, maybe a little bit, but not entirely. At the end of the day it was my “best man” who convinced me that it would create the most memorable experience. I’ve never been there before and it’s already on my travel wish-list. Not to mention it is the quintessential destination to cut loose with friends.
With that said, for those that really know me understand that I’m not much of a drinker; or party animal for that matter. In fact (just to continue the Hangover reference)…I’m probably the equivalent of the groom that was left on the roof the entire movie. So my expectations for the trip will be tame by comparison. continue reading »

The following overview is feedback to all my groomsmen. As you know, everyone will be required to purchase their own black suit, as we will not be doing rentals for the event. However, those who already have a suit that is “true black”, then please do use it. A dark blue won’t work, so if you don’t have a black one…You know the deal. I leave the brand and cut of the suit totally up to you. You guys know what you feel comfortable in, so please get the style that works for you. If you have any questions, just let me know.
Where we would like you guys to be uniform on, for obvious reasons, is that of the shirt and tie. We’re going very traditional. Black suit, white french cuff shirt, black tie and black dress shoes (don’t forget black socks). I’ll be getting all groomsmen cufflinks, as that will be my gift to you, so you don’t need to worry about that. The wedding is still some time away, but it might make sense for you guys to purchase your attire piece by piece. That way you can spread out the financial burden a bit. Just a thought…Otherwise, it might make sense for everyone to make their final purchases at least a few weeks prior to the wedding.
Below is a quick checklist of the items you guys will need to take care of:
