Night Out in NYC with Brian

I was working out of my companies (Ernst & Young) Time Square office back on April 15th as I had a few meetings I needed to tend to. My buddy Brian, who frequently makes the daily commute into Manhattan from Connecticut, invited me to join him to catch a New York Knicks game at the Madison Square Garden after work. How could anyone say no to the MSG? I sure couldn’t. I met up with him at his office (BE International) where we chatted a while along with the company co-owner Tamim Bteddini. Tamim and I actually know each other back from our college soccer days as well as some consulting business we did together when Paradox Solutions was still alive and kicking. Great guy and a dynamic company to say the least.
Prior to the game, Tamim treated us to dinner at Jack’s Restaurant on 147 W 40th Street. Great food and very enjoyable conversation. Thanks Tamim. After our delicious meals, Brian and I made our way to the garden. We had some fantastic seats. Center court. Lower level. Perfect for actually watching a game. Unfortunately the game was extremely boring as both teams, Knicks and Nets, were eliminated from the playoffs and this game was essentially their last one before heading into the off-season. Most of the starters were benched and it was clear that players really were not trying and more importantly trying to avoid injury. Anyway, we felt we had our fill once half time came around at which time we started our voyage back home. Part of me also wanted to head home earlier as I just found our a few hours before that I need to be in Boston the next morning for a 10am meeting. It was rough the next day but well worth it. It’s always a great experience going to the Garden. Lots of energy in the crowd even when the teams are performing at painfully low quality level.
Below are a few photos from the evening. Thanks for the invite Brian. Goodtimes…
