Let me start off by addressing any preconceived notions you might have regarding Venice.  Yes, it’s expensive.  Yes, it was hot.  Yes, it was crowded.  But…the most important Yes?  YES, IT’S WORTH VISITING.  I mean that with every fiber of my being.  It really does feel like something out of a dream.  Every turn you take leads to something more beautiful then before.  If you every have an opportunity to go there at some point…GO!

Our hotel was located on the out skirts of the Island, in a quaint little province of Venice called Mestre.  We took a shuttle bus in for full days of sight seeing,  and relaxed in a more low-key location at night.  It would have been nice to see Venice in the evening, but we were so exhausted come night fall that it was impossible for us to work up the energy to make that happen.  Just the same, we had an amazing experience.
