The trip ran from March 21 – 27, 2005.  Those in attendence were my mom, dad, sister and my sister’s godmother, Marily.  We were fortunate enough to have stayed in a resort in Puerta Plata, Domincan Republic.  It was a top notch location with all the amendities you can possibly want. 

Looking back, we really did squeeze alot into a short period of time.  My sister and I were truly explorers, trying to soak up as much of the culture as we possibly could.  Outside of enjoying the gorgeous weather and a private beach adjacent to the resort, we also took a off-road tour using quads.  They were fast and probably not 100% up to code but it was a fantastic experience.  The highlight of the trip for both myself and my sister was another off-road adventure.  One which required hiking up waterfalls and cliffs, then leaping into more waterfalls (sometimes 20+ feet) on the way back.  continue reading »

Wonderful romantic getaway at the Cliff Side Inn, Newport Rhode Island.  Kathleen and I did alot of loafing around that weekend which was coupled with wonderful dinners nearby the shore.  The highlight of the trip for Kathleen was reading in front of the fireplace just after a nice long soak in the whirlpool.  For me, it was the incredible antique birdcage shower.  It was nuts!  Streams of water hitting you from every angle.  Wonder why they don’t have them anymore???  They really are awesome!
